The Jesse Stone series

If you like Robert Parker's books, you'll like these movies. The spoken dialog isn't quite as snappy as the written dialog, but good none the less. Stars Tom Selleck, whom I like in spite of the fact that he's a raging Republican. These appear to have been a mini series due to breaks within the presentation. Don't go by release dates to watch them in order. This is the chronological order of the story line.

Night Passage
Death in Paradise
Stone Cold

Nice low-key who done its.

So sad to see the notice of Parker's passing; but Tom Selleck seems determined to keep the series alive. Caught the recent release of Benefit of the Doubt which Selleck co-wrote with someone else. This is the first one I found a little disappointing, but considering the circumstances, a pretty good effort. I am sure if Tom Selleck continues to try to pick up the thread, his renditions will get better.

The photography is always so wonderful, and Paradise, MA seems like a perfect place to live -- except of course for all the murders!

I also love how the movies incorporate Stone's dog. The interaction between him and his dog is an integral part of the storytelling.
