Star Trek Discovery - Paramount+ Anyone?

Wow.

If you're a Star Trek fan, the 9.95 a month is worth it for this series alone. At least until I've binge watched all of them. I see that there is a Star Trek Picard series as well. Has anyone watched that one?

I've finished season 1 of Discovery and am watching the 1st episode of season 2 now. I'm so impressed. It's as impressive as any big budget science fiction movie I've ever seen. It brings in information from ST Enterprise, as well as early original series.

Discovery is fantastic. And Picard was well done. Looking forward to Strange New Worlds. We binge watched Lower Decks.
Besides the Star Trek shows (both new ones and all the old ones), it has access to the CBS library of shows past and present, new and vintage kids shows/cartoons as well as sports and movies.
The $9.95 a month is well worth it. We watch Paramount+ more than Netflix, HULU, Disney+ and Amazon Prime combined!

I guess if the production quality of their new originals is going to be as high as it is with Discovery, I might consider keeping it. I think 10 bucks is a little pricey for just a couple of series that I want to watch, but I do want to watch them.

We're all over the place with what we view. We watch a lot of OTA shows, Discovery+, Netflix, and Amazon. Now Paramount+. It depends on what we're binge watching at the time as to which gets our focus. The OTA programs that we like, we DVR and fast forward through commercials, and it's free.

I'm sure that at some point, all of the streaming services will merge into 3 huge streaming services and we'll be stuck again paying for unwanted programming at a ridiculous price, but until then...

I was kind of so-so with the first season of Discovery but have liked the rest. Love Anson Mount as Pike, so I'm excited for Strange New Worlds to come out. Also love Michelle Yeoh as Philippa Georgiou, who is supposedly getting her own series too. I have to say I'm not a big fan of the Burnham character, she's too breathy/whispery and I think she cries in every episode. That may be the writers fault and not the actress'.

Very much liked Picard, but then he is my favorite ST capt, so that's a no brainer. Some wonderful cameos of other old faves too.

I alternate my streaming subscriptions, except for HBO Max and Netflix.
