that when the first two copies I had grew legs and walked, I bought it again!!! (in paperback, this time)

I watched the show and enjoyed it immensely. Had me laughing so much! But maybe it's just me... I enjoyed the books even more. There's nothing like crawling into bed and keeping your husband awake all night as you're laughing hysterically at what you're reading! (LOL)

Also, even though I it is in our Kindles he wanted a regular book copy too. So he got it for his birthday.

We are looking forward to the next season which begins in just a few days.

Don't know if it's still up. My adult daughter was grossed out by some of the humor, but I found it LOL funny. Violent, ancient Vikings with all the personality quirks of modern scandinavians.

Created by a Native American, Sterlin Harjo, written by him and other NA writers, it is the story of four teenagers on a reservation in eastern Oklahoma. It is hilarious, offbeat, poignant and more representative of native peoples than anyting I've seen. The young people are great, but there are some familiar faces such as Gary Farmer Jr. and Wes Studi. Can't recommend it enough. It is showing on FX but runs first on Hulu.

I will also tout Somebody Somewhere on HBO. It is focused on the lives of "outcasts" in Manhattan Ks. including Manhattan native Bridget Everett, who is as talented as anybody on television when it comes to comedy and singing, and her co-star Jeff Hiller is not far behind. He is gay as are several characters, along with a trans character, but they are organic to the town and storylines, not stock characters. Just lviing their life in a small Kansas town. It's a dramady, with some family issues and sadness but it's just beautiful in the way it cares about the characters and the easygoing way the stories are told.

I just love both those shows.

All the young people in Reservation Dogs are terrific, but so are the oldsters. It's like they got released to play actual Native Americans in a real way.

From their latest crowd-funding campaign. I donated to get them on Netflix, which they did for two seasons, and my name is proudly in the credits for, "Starcrash," which has the Hoff in it.

But I don't think they''re as funny as the first 5 seasons hosted by Joel. The first 10 seasons are all available for free here:

Have you seen any of the spin-off shows? Cinematic Titanic has some of the original members. It's pretty funny and is on Tubi for free.

And I went to a live showing of Cinematic Titanic and three live shows of MST3K (two Jonah and one Emily). The two Jonah ones had live skits, but then it showed us a non-broadcast episode, essentially. The Emily one was live skits and riffing.

I'm a balloon twister so I twisted life-sized Crow and Tom Servo before the CT show to get pictures with the group during autographs after the show. Joel asked me if there were videos that show you how to make them, and I said I came up with them in the motel a couple of hours before the show. He was impressed and took pictures of me. Then I gave them to Trace and Josh, and I think they eventually gave them away to some kids. There were no autograph sessions after the MST3K live shows so no pics there.

I also twisted life-sized Crow, Tom, and doll-sized Kinga for Felicia Day when she came to my local comic con.

Someday I'll go to RiffTrax live to get Kevin, Bill, and Mike.

The Green Wing:
Adult language, Surreal Humor, Mark Heap and Pippa Haywood are freaking hilarious. The show is really out there and each episode is 51 minutes.

Friday Night Dinner:
Another Show with Mark Heap as the neighbor.

Rake:
"A brilliant barrister battles his self-destructive tendencies."

And you're right. It's out there. Sort of a cross between Mr. Bean and Monty Python. Thoroughly unique.

24. "Wellington Paranormal", "The Other Two" and "Ghosts" (BBC version)

Jul 2023

All are three are on MAX but "Wellington Paranormal" is also available for free on the CW site (cwtv.com).

"Wellington Paranormal", a spinoff of "What We Do in the Shadows", is about a special unit of the Wellington police that investigates paranormal activity. It's framed as a ride-along reality series, like "Cops" but with ghosts and vampires. It is endlessly hilarious and every episode has different opening titles with wacky newspaper headlines.

"The Other Two" is a series I avoided because the premise didn't seem interesting: an internet video star achieves fame while his two older siblings struggle to make a name for themselves. I started watching when I learned Wanda Sykes was a regular. It's very funny and a clever commentary on today's celebrity culture. Produced by Lorne Michaels, it features a standout performance by Molly Shannon as the kid's mom.

"Ghosts" is the British series that inspired the CBS version. A young couple inherits an old mansion and tries to turn it into a bed and breakfast but they need to contend with the ghosts from different eras that reside there, who can communicate with the wife after she suffers a concussion. This series is very funny but the characters are also lovable and sometimes their situations are quite poignant. You'll want to keep watching for the laughs but also because these ghosts are such good company.

comedy shows ever. Free with ads on FreeVee. There are 2 versions: one live actors and one animated. I think all the animated characters are voiced by the original actor(s) from the original version, except one who had passed away between the two versions.

We also like Kim's Convenience (also Canadian) on Netflix
