Nightsleeper on Britbox

Joe Cole (Peaky Blinders) stars as a police officer who happens to be on the "Heart of Britain", a night sleeper train that runs from Glasgow to London, when the UK Rail system is taken over by a hacker who demands a ransom or will drive the train at high speed into Victoria Station. He and an acting railway director (Alexandra Roach) at headquarters communicate via satellite phone to keep the passengers safe and thwart the hacker's plans.

This limited series is full of cliches and forced drama but it's a fun ride, playing out the runaway train and puppet-master tropes in predictable, satisfying fashion. There are the usual acts of startling heroism and rank stupidity, red herrings and official malfeasance, and plenty of nuts-and-bolts railway and hacker lore to keep us nerds happy. If you like runaway train stories, and who doesn't, you won't be disappointed.
