Borgia season 2 now streaming
I love this series. I loved the Tudors as well. Da Vinci's Demons on Starz, not as much.
You have to take the details of these series with a grain of salt, but that grain of salt (artistic license) is what makes these historic series interesting. What they do in the general sense is bring the dry history we learned in the classroom to life. The names we have all known, Lucretia, Machiaveli, Savonarola, now have a face and a life. We can see the cause and effect. Despite the many invented details, we can see that these were real people, with the same flaws that we have, and that they were the foundation of European history, and consequently our own history.

(2,217 posts)The acting has been good, and as far as being authentic about the history, I think there may be some exaggerations, or not, but it did happen pretty much as they depicted. I always felt those years,(1200-1600s) were always in darkness, and there's a whole lot of history to be found and told.

(20,886 posts)I know it from the art history point of view, but not the political point of view. I love Borgia, the Tudors, Elizabeth R in fact just about anything depicting Elizabeth. It truly was a turning point in history.
