Anyone watch "The Fall" on Netflix?
A friend recommended it; Gillian Anderson is in it. Seems interesting so far (20 minutes into the first episode).

(26,117 posts)But I like not having to wait between episodes, like when you watch on regular TV.

(31,308 posts)is it like a self contained one series show? or will it be back?
heh - i looked it up to be sure we were talking about the same show and there were like 3 movies listed before it. but i knew what you were talking about because i just watched it myself about a month or two ago.

(26,117 posts)Not sure if there will be more.
I was a huge X-Files fan back when that was on - it's an adjustment to see Anderson NOT playing Scully. I could get used to it, though.

Just checked. There will be a second season.
I'm really glad there will be more! Thanks for the info!

(2,151 posts)I liked it, but I like most of the British series. And I'm also an X Files fan, so I had to check out Gilllian Anderson. Her character is interesting, kind of cold and a little creepy.

(26,117 posts)But I wonder if it's more because her character doesn't fit the societal idea of how a woman should act. If a male character acted that way, would it seem more "typical?"
The character also reminds me a little of Helen Mirren's Jane Tennyson from Prime Suspect (great show!).

(2,151 posts)I was going to mention her. I feel like Gillian Anderson's character has a lot more to be revealed, that's why I'm so glad there is another season. And if I remember right, she even said when questioned about her one nighter with the young detective, that if she was a man it wouldn't be an issue. I felt like she enjoyed making the men uncomfortable about all of that.
