OK - now on serious withdrawl. We just devoured Season 6 of Mad Men....via DVDs.
And now we have to wait a year for Season 7 (which will be the last)? Not fair! The show seems to be holding its quality just fine - acting, writing, some plot twists, depth - it is quite a watch. Not quite up to Sopranos and Six Feet Under quality, but really quite close.
So, as we await the next set of Boardwalk Empire episodes and Mad Men episodes, I think we will dive into Breaking Bad next (Disc 1 has been Very Long Wait for months - I called Netflix and they blamed it on an insufficient number of discs, many of which have become damaged)...we will do a free trial of streaming just to get into it then go to discs.

(11,205 posts)It will absolutely stun you. I'd love to buy the DVD set if only for all of the outtakes and extras that come with it.
You'll never watch a Malcolm in the Middle rerun the same way again.

(53,061 posts)Breaking Bad has as much action and plot development in one show as other shows have in 6.
But the acting is superb.
Cranston should get a special Emmy for simply his use of eye expression.
He says more with a squint than others do with a 10 minute speech.

(24,096 posts)We were humming and hawing about it for a while and finally dug in recently on Netflix and couldn't dig ourselves out. Marathon watching for days.
Still have to see the final season (6, 5b?) which we will have to rent from a local vid store.
It's a Wow.
