iZombie: NetFlix
We just started this over the long weekend and are laughing so much with it.
Premise, for those who've missed it:
Liv, a med student, get turned into a Zombie at a party. This sucks. Fortunately, she shifts her focus from Surgery to Pathology and joins the Medical Examiners office with an adequate source of brains. Now she just needs to buy lots of bronzer and hot sauce (which, apparently, is needed to make brains tasty to zombies). None of her friends and family catch on.
The side effect is that she picks up traits and flashes of memory from the dead person. Together, she the ME and a detective, who is weirded out enough with just her "I'm a psychic" cover, solve murders based on her insights.
Sounds way over the top--and in a way it is--but it's just plain funny watching her contend with all sorts of personalities. Seems to me to have more promise as an ongoing conceit than many other shows.
It also lets the actress have a lot of fun, dealing with the rapid shifts. Not Tatiana Maslany/Orphan Black territory, but still enough changes to show a lot of range.
