On Netflix... Watched for first time all seasons of Walking Dead...

it has strong character development, focusing on the human side of survival and how one adapts in such catastrophic conditions. Unlike the movies and countless other treatments of this kind of material, it is not horrendously "kitschy" and it isn't so hard to "buy in" to the story line. Well acted too.

The cast is phenomenal as well. They take their art seriously....I think this is a plausible catastrophic scenario if such ever happened..... Reflection of human behavior in our history of humanity...

I think commercial interrupting the episode would diminish the absorption of the content...That won't stop me from watching Season 8 Episode 1 in October thought..

Been a fan from the start. Great characters and predicaments. The season finales are especially amazing.

Have not gotten into the spin off tho', Fear The Walking Dead.

After the third or forth it gets boring though.
There's always a Walking Dead lounge thread where we chat during commercials. NewJeffCT always posts some cool links to stories, clips and memes. We also do GOT. Drop by next month!

I have generally watched most of it, but not particularly closely--usually while doing something else.

I just don't care about most of the characters on the spin-off like I do on Walking Dead, so that when the former kills off someone, it feels pretty meaningless. Definitely not that way with Walking Dead.

I actually cried. And watched that episode 3 more times, it was so mesmerizing. Jeffrey Dean Morgan said in an interview that some little old lady came up to him in a supermarket and started cursing him.

I've read lots of George RR Martins books especially in the 80's, Sandkongs and fever dream are some of my faves.

But walking dead is absolutely stunning for what I'd thought would just be another zombie story, as said above the character developement, the writing, the constant perils are done exceptionally well, and you can't see a hint of the usual problem in where you know what will happen beforehand or have a good idea what's next.

You care about the characters and their struggles, you see what can happen when society vanishes and the writers never give them an easy way out, it's obvious to me that you should have a much easier time trying to survive than what they show in the series and that makes it more fun to watch.

I read part of one of the illustrated comics from the storyline but then I read something that I didn't want to know as it told me more than the series up to that time had inferred, I want to see the story develop on the tv so no more of that.

It's what, 9 years in now?, I'll watch till the end and you know it can't go on forever but as long as the writing is good and the acting follows I'll be waiting for the next episode.

Many people, as was I, assuming it was like a run of the mill zombies blah blah series by the name...Oh my, one needs to watch and be impressed....as was I.

Love the character development with a passion.

I don't think they will mirror the comic book series as close...I believe they will do the GOT style of TV adaption.
