Anyone watch the Netflix original, Mute?

It is by Duncan Jones, who directed one of my favorites, "Moon."

It has been critically panned and ravaged by places like Rotten Tomatoes, but I think a lot of people missed the point.
Suporting actors Paul Rudd and Justin Theroux play a type of damaged Hawkeye Pierce and Trapper John, two army surgeons who have gone awol from the US Army from a never-ending American War in New Kandahar. One is clear psychopath and the other, has worse problems. They aren't the main characters though, Alexander Skarsgård is an Amish Mute searching for his missing girlfriend in the seedier neighborhoods in near-future Berlin. Good performances, complicated story that is simple at its core, and much more left unsaid (record US Army defections). Well worth a watch, imo.

Had some great stars, but overall I rated it thumbs down. I thought the story was super choppy and acting poor, in some cases ludicrously poor. Sorry.

It felt like a first draft that needed to be heavily edited. Some poor casting (Rudd) didn’t help. I wanted to like it, but it was terribly muddled.
