The Mighty Boosh!!!
Season One showing on Amazon! This show used to be available on Adult Swim (my favorite channel), but I never did see Season One. The Amazon version is from the BBC and includes material at the beginning of each show that I don't think was shown on AS.
If you've never seen it and you like really offbeat yet sort of cerebral and at the same time really dumb comedy, you ought to give it a try. I love it, but my husband has to leave the room when I'm watching it. He didn't like The Office, either, though. If you liked Garth Marenghi's Dark Place, you'll love this. You'll recognize some of the same actors.
Another Amazon discovery for us is Drop the Soap, a comedy about a soap opera, starring Jane Lynch. My husband does like this one.
I sure hope Amazon buys more seasons of Mighty Boosh. Vince Nuit forever.

(217 posts)I got three seasons or four, and waiting for the next season. Good show.
I am watching Better call Saul on Netflix I think. I just started this afternoon. Slow developing, which I like. Well made.

(9,726 posts)I just added 3 seasons to my watch list, plus there's what appears to be a movie, "The Mighty Boosh: A Journey Through Space and Time."

(1,375 posts)I enjoyed the 2nd and 3rd season more than the first one, it took me time to get into the show.

(4,483 posts)I've been watching and re-watching, and it just gets better. I first saw it on Adult Swim, but I think they had only seasons 2 and 3, and the language was censored. This is so much better! Somebody posted there was a movie, too, but I haven't seen it.

(1,375 posts)Not that I have to worry since I have both commercial free hulu and prime, just curious.

(4,483 posts)I was looking around for the movie and I found that Noel Fielding (Vince Noir) is a host on the Great British Baking Show, and Julian Barratt is in a movie called ?Mindhunter? I forget, but if you're interested, search his name. They've both been in a bunch of other stuff, too, so I'm going to look out for them. Have you ever seen Garth Marenghi's Dark Place? I saw it on TV a couple of years ago; if you like Boosh, you'll like Dark Place.

(3,266 posts)that show me what they think I want to see. Theyre incredibly limiting. Neither Dropping The Soap not The Mighty Boosh have never popped up anywhere for me, Ive never heard of either one! Same has happened to me for Netflix shows others have spoken of that I had to go find and add to my list, Babylon Berlin being a recent example. All three sound like shows Id really enjoy, never did any of them reveal themselves in my offerings.
Just subscribed to this group, Im increasingly glad I have done!

(4,483 posts)Report back on how you like Boosh, please--I'm always looking for converts! I watch the eps over and over and find new delights with each viewing. And I share you feelings about their algorithms--they don't have a clue about what I like, either.

(3,266 posts)Thing about British comedy is either you're a fan or you're not.......no middle ground there. (Monty Python's "The Holy Grail" excepted, of course!) "Boosh" was not my cuppa tea (you see what I did there )
