So I watched the British comedy, "Catastrophe" season 1 on Amazon Prime...

It was laugh out loud funny in many episodes and I adore quirky British comedies.

SPOILER ALERT: If you don't want to know anything about the show or how it changes from season 1 to 2, stop here.. I critique something that happens in episode 1 of season 2, which to me makes the show no longer watchable and quite frankly the show to be unredeemable IMO. So, if you don't want to know, go no further. Just stop here. On the other hand, this is a friggin comedy (or it is supposed to be), so there are no real "SPOILERs". It isn't like comedies have some cliff hanger from episode to episode, but still. Here's your warning.

Then I started season 2... the same salty witty crosstalk and reactions to the bizarre people in their lives as well as the circumstances they find themselves living in, but then they have the most callous reaction I have ever seen in any tv show to the accidental death of their dog, complete with tossing his body in the trash with not a bit of remorse.

At least in comedies like Chevy Chase' National Lampoon Vacation movie, where the dog is likewise made a "fatal comedic device" they at least had the good sense to show regret.

Uggh. I won't be watching again... That's a line crossed too far. Who the hell thought audiences would appreciate THAT?

He made my skin crawl. I gave up on it halfway through season one. And the way they related to each other as a couple was creepy. I rarely found it funny.

I guess I'm determined to find something "free" to stream on Amazon--to get my $$ worth on Prime.

But, I'd be hard pressed not to smack someone viewing that who found the dog's death and the manner in which they addressed it to be funny. Gawd, are we a world of sociopaths now? So much for any diversion from Trump world...

I've been on the fence about putting the time into binge watching it, but that bit about the dog would be too much for me.
