they may have taken "liberties" among other things. The interviewer is an NPR personality that hosts "Wait, Wait, don't tell me" if you are familiar with that. I am listening to it on iphone so I assume it is the same as what you are seeing on youtube, but I don't know.

Having been to Russia in 1994, it brings back a lot of memories.
That was one extremely horrible and ongoing disaster.

It was fascinating how the supervisor just completely ignores what is said because it cannot be true.

Kind of like in GOTs when Slynt says there are no giants just as giants are attacking the wall.
