"Atlantics"? Did anyone else find it confusing?

I watched it yesterday and I'm not really sure what it was about.

My daughter, who spent some time in West Africa and has seen several movies from that part of the world summed it up best. She said, "You're watching the movie, and then it suddenly ends and you say to yourself, 'What was THAT all about?'"
