Cancer Support
Related: About this forumOff to surgery this morning.
They are going to fix what radiation broke. I have fluid behind my eardrum, so they are inserting a drain tube. It's outpatient surgery.
As it is right now, I'm nearly deaf in my right ear. The fluid is preventing my eardrum from moving.
They say the only pain will be getting the numbing shot. Hope it doesn't hurt as much as the shot I got in the nose.

(60,271 posts)The dr was a mere child. She walked me through the procedure as she worked.

(60,271 posts)The sound I hear is like from a small old transistor radio. My hearing is still bad in that ear, but better, and the pressure is gone.
