Potential post-menopausal bleeding

Long, kinda intimate. Warning, mentions blood.

I've been in menopause for about 5 yrs. I've never had any bleeding I've seen, at all.

Today, i notice a large dark stain on the back of my white robe. Looks like dried blood. There's also a corresponding strain on my chair. I washed the robe wo taking a picture of it. Like a dummy.

Never noticed any blood. This amount would have been noticeable to me. I'm flummoxed. My Medicare starts 12/1.

This whole thing is so bizarre.

Thanks for reading. Just a stress vent post.

I’ve heard that post menopausal who lose weight sometimes bleed due to the release of hormones in fat.

Best to talk with a health professional though.

I hope yours turns out the same as mine did. I also had massive unexplained bleeding. Turns out I had a benign vascular growth, which my OB/GYN laughed off, saying they look terrifying to a lot of people who do annuals, but they’re harmless. She scraped it all out and biopsied, and all was good. So, please go get proved and find out, but you hopefully will wind up with the same minor problem.

I had slight bleeding, but mainly when I was stressed about something. Also I had quit taking HRT. Finally got it checked out and all was normal. Have never really understood what happened. Maybe it was related to vaccines and stress. Definitely would get it checked out though.

19. I had some breakthrough bleeding after one of my Covid shots

Very strange. Minimal in the amount and lasted about a week or so. I originally thought it was due to a change in soap, some sort of allergic reaction. And then, I read about reported breakthrough bleeding in some women after receiving the vaccine. On the other hand, I recalled my mother complaining of breakthrough bleeds as she aged. She lived to be 91, nearly 92. So, I decided not to worry which for better or worse is my default position when it comes to my own health. Too many others in my life to worry about.

Don't wait until Dec. If bleeding continues, you could get very anemic. This is serious. Are you on a blood thinner medication? 2 years ago, I was on warforin blood thinner that caused internal bleeding. Had to go in the hospital and get 4 blood transfusions. Have a gynecologist check you out and do a pap smear.

I went to an OB/GYN, ended up having a hysterectomy and Stage III cancer.

But I'm still here. Get it checked out. Now.

Menstrual changes after Covid vaccines may be far more common than previously known
A study found that 42% of people with regular menstrual cycles said they bled more heavily than usual after their Covid vaccination.

An analysis published Friday in the journal Science Advances found that 42% of people with regular menstrual cycles said they bled more heavily than usual after vaccination. Meanwhile, 44% reported no change and around 14% reported a lighter period. Among nonmenstruating people — those post-menopause or who use certain long-term contraceptives, for example — the study suggests many experienced breakthrough or unexpected bleeding after their Covid shots.

In my case, that involved a hysteroscopy to start with.

Take care, and as others told me: "Be your own advocate!"
