Saw the oncologist today

Nice guy, really like him. Scheduled another CT scan on the head Monday to make sure it hasn't entered the brain and a PET scan on Tuesday to see how close in proximity the hotspots on the vertebrae are to the spinal chord. If it enters the spinal chord, it can cause paralysis, so if it's getting close, he will zap that first with radiation to avoid paralysis. Then, chemo will begin next Friday.
Since all of this is breast cancer, it is treatable, and he says he thinks we can look forward to some good results. There's a lot to tackle, but you just take it one day at a time.

for the update. It sounds like she's got a good Dr. that will make sure she gets the care and treatments she needs !
Just take everything day by day, that's all you or anyone can do. I am just so thankful that she has such a loving and supportive
husband and family.

Jokingly of course, because he also sees my step-dad, my mom (has RA but was tested for cancer), and my best friend's girl-friend who just had a lumpectomy and is doing radiation. And, as we were waiting in the waiting room, another of his patients came out, a friend of more than 40 years of mine came out. I had just seen him Monday at the hospital while waiting for the sonogram.
Hmmm? Maybe we should carpool or something!
