The 1st Annual "Pacemaker 500" starts today!!!

Last edited Sun Jan 2, 2022, 12:10 AM - Edit history (1)

I propose this as a fun idea:

The first to walk 500 miles this year wins. Wins what? Well, the most important thing ever: the jealousy of your peers here!

Rules:
1) Have a pacemaker
2) I dunno…what does anyone else think?

Just throwing this out there. Anyone else? I’ve got 5 miles in today.

I think you'll have trouble finding contestants limiting it to people with pacemakers.

I'm not sure there are many active DUers with pacemakers installed.

to make it harder for me to win.

Seriously though, there might be more here than we think.

I have no knowledge of how many DUers are outfitted with pacemakers. There could be enough to count on one hand, or there could be hundreds. Myself, I am pacemaker-less.

Got mine one year ago. Had jogged 3 miles a few days before I got it and ran 3 miles a few days after I got it. Doc says keep doing it.
I run about 10 miles a week. I'm actually going about that now, just haven't kept track. Plus I'm 72. Bionic Seniors on the run.

you DO have a pacemaker, even if it’s just a 100% natural organic “god-given” one, rather than a plainly superior implanted electronic gizmo.

Just sayin’.
