I was out clearing snow and the footing was good enough to go for a walk. I just stay on top of

it and sweep my walkways.

Two miles to the store and back in about four inches of snow and I'm good for a couple of days. The breeze shifted so it was in my face both ways too. I wished I'd worn my ski goggles. I don't ski but am totally equipped for walks in about as nasty as it can get out there.

I only don't do high wind and icy sidewalks. I had my right shoulder replaced in October and can't afford a fall. I'll be good enough in a few weeks to avoid injury most likely if I do crash. I couldn't go yesterday and didn't expect to today, so I'm feeling pretty good.

At least around here, those things are sold everywhere, like bear spray. Gas stations, hardware store, general store... easy to come by and inexpensive.

I use the poles because I'm clumsy and I don't get back up so easily anymore without something to help me up. But if I'm using one or two poles falling down is unusual.
