"Sustiva Dreams"- can't figure out why I don't have them-or any other side-effects....

I started Atripla in mid-January of this year but aside from a few complex and interesting dreams nothing noteworthy at all. I was worried about nightmares so I took Bill's (William769) advice and watched porn before bed and, while I enjoyed it immensely, it didn't affect my dreams at all. No nightmares, no sex dreams. Three months and I have no side-effects at all. I thought I had a good imagination but I must be one of the most boring people alive.

Oh, well, at least I don't have any "real" problems.

1. At what time do you take the Atripla compared to bedtime?

Also it helps if you have a full stomach. I have been on it for years now & the dreams are far & few in between (but that doesn't stop me from watching porn before bed (just in case )).

Also you may be one of the few lucky ones that does not get the dreams. Ask your Doctor about it & see what he says.

2. Bill, I take my pill nightly around 11pm, and go to bed around 1am.....I think I'm just one of the

very lucky ones-no side-effects whatsoever. Since I almost always stay up a couple of hours later than Michael (my husband/partner/lover/better half) I started spending part of the time watching naughty videos on XTube Gay and Gaytube (my excuse-a friend on DU suggested it!). Now I'm even more addicted to free porn than I was before Atripla but haven't had the dreams that I think I richly deserve!

Honestly, my complaints are absolute pure bullshit. I LOVE taking only I pill a day instead of 6, could not be happier with the dosage, and have had no discernable side-effects. Still wish I had a few of the vivid sex dreams though! I've actually had a few "lucid dreams" before where I was in control. I'd love to experience that with Atripla.

Then I read experiences of guys who can't take the drug at all because of the hideous nightmares they get and am once again reminded of how incredibly lucky I am. All things considered, I am a very lucky man and I try to appreciate that every day..

5. I've been on Atripla since January, 2011.

As far as the dreams go this is the best I can explain it from my perspective:

I don't have more dreams than I used to, but when I have them they are more vivid and often just bizarre! I seem to remember them more easily too.

I guess we should just be thankful that we don't have any serious side effects.

6. Glad to hear from someone doing well on Atripla....just recently

(the last week or so) I have had one nightmare-not too bad though. Much like you describe, my dreams have been vivid and detailed-and I do tend to remember more of them.

In all honestly, even if I suffered from horrible dreams I'd still appreciate the Atripla. After 14 years on Viracept/Combivir I was more than ready for a change. Life is good!
