Who else is depressed?
Hi DU friends, I haven't been by this forum. Yeah I'm one of those people who pop in when the internals are too much.
Getting on the right meds has helped a lot...but I've been feeling real down lately. I had planned to go out to a resistance activity today but I'm so down and it's freezing cold and grey outside. I just want to curl up and continue isolating. Which feels good until later...days or weeks later. Obsessively reading politics probably isn't helping. Thank you, I just needed to say it out loud.

1. Excercise if possible. It boosts endorphin levels and burns calories.
Allowing for consumption of chocolate.

3. I hear you, my dear BlancheSplanchnik!
I'm not clinically depressed, but I am down about our political situation, plus my own medical one.
I'm two months out from having my right knee replaced, and my progress has been glacial. My other knee was much faster, probably due to the fact that I was five years younger! Anyway, it does get me down. And the political mess is not helping. I have to distract myself, plus talk to my therapist, which really helps. Connecting with other people can help, especially if you like them, and vice versa! ![]() |

4. Awww, hi Peggy!
I haven't seen you in too long! I didn't even know you had a second knee done.
Definitely, being in Healing Mode after surgery makes you really nuts after the first week or so. Plus everything else. Depression's been with me all my life, and my way of dealing has always been curling up and sleeping. That was the only option for a lonnnnnng time. I'm better than before though! I guess noticing it is a sign of improvement, since if it's your default position, you don't realize you need to do something. Well, here's a hug backatcha! And I hope we both find plenty of good distractions! ❤ ![]() |

Thanks shenmue!
I wonder what it's like to not have depression and other crap? Oh well at least I'm warm and comfy at home. |
