Thank you Keto

Started my Keto journey in December (first meeting with doctor in January). I have lost 119 pounds, A1C 9.1% to 5%, waist line from 69 to 52, visceral fat from over 47 to 26. Off high blood pressure and cholesterol medicine. Combined with exercise - 25K steps a day, rowing 30 minutes 5 times a week, and resistance training 2-3 times a week.

Still have a way to go, but I am not hungry even with 16/8 and 23/1 intermittent fasting.

Wish I could get my wife to do it.

8. I feel the same

I absolutely love my doctor who is a former military doctor. Been trying to drum up business for him.

13. I may look into this.

My wife is desperately trying to lose some weight, and also do something to help her high blood pressure. If it's something I'm able to do with her, she'll greatly improve her chances of success.

Thanks for sharing your story!

14. It would be good if you both could do it

I have been encouraging my wife who has diabetes to try it. She is taking medication for the diabetes (very expensive medication). She also has heart palpations when stressed.

Taking care of the missus is the most important thing in my book. I wish you well. My friend lost his wife to cancer two years ago, and just retired. Not the retirement he wanted.

Wish you the best.

16. You might have her give puerh tea a try. It does both, could be a little boost to her efforts.

It’s basically fermented and aged tea, a Chinese traditional tea. There are two types (ripe and raw), with different attributes. I drank the widely available Numi brand Emperors Puerh for a while, it’s fairly dark and rich for a tea, you can put whatever kind of milk you like in it, too.

15. I've been keto for over 2 years now & have naturally moved to carnivore.

I lost 45 pounds, all I needed to lose, and have kept it off for 2 years now. I weigh what I did in high school 52 years ago. I have also moved to doing alternate day fasting, eating during an 8 hour window and then fasting for 36-40 hours. That's also really cut my grocery bill as well.

I must admit that in those 2 years I've been on keto I have not persuaded even 1 person to try it, even people who know me and have seen the dramatic results that the keto diet/lifestyle has had on my life. Most just think it's too hard or they love their sweets. Now I just tell them to try it for a few weeks, doing the best they can, and see the results. But do it or don't do it, that's up to them.
