Tis a big holiday weekend for many...will you be doing more genealogy work?

A lot of people are going to have big family gatherings, or are in the process of having them, this holiday season. Though I am not having any big family celebrations, I still often find myself more drawn to work on my family history this time of year. Do you find that you are doing more work on your family trees during the holiday season?

about their memories, life, etc. Considering that Christmas is so family-oriented for me, it's hard NOT to think about working on the family history.

And she's recorded about as much about herself and her family as she wants to share. She published a genealogy of her maiden name and is finalizing the second edition.

I should get hubby to interview her for stories about his Dad who they lost in 1972. That is the only way he will have to get information about the kind of person his Dad was as a young man. But I lent out my video camera so we'd have no good way to record it.

Maybe we'll do that this spring.

They are immigrants from India, and few records exist. It's an interesting contrast with my niece's heritage, which is New England blueblood/Scotch/Irish/German, back to the American Revolution, the Mayflower, Henry VII, and beyond.
