6. Delivery

Pizza and subs TJ ordered from a restaurant on the UVA Corner. I patronized that restaurant a lot when I worked at the Medical School in the 70s and from time to time in the next 30 years.

We will see if the pizza is still good.

======

FLFC is sure to ask for some of everything. We'll have to sort out stuff he shouldn't have like onions.

10. wow, that's pretty fancy (hasselback)

but totally appropriate with surf 'n turf.

The ginger tea has the advantage of making one totally indifferent to sweets. Which, since summer is coming, I want to cut back on.

12. Hasselback potatoes are appropriately named... they're a hassle!

But they're fantastic. They're just so messy to prepare! Thankfully, when I tried them for the first time, my brother's oven had a self-cleaning feature!

9. Shepherd's pie...

or, since it's with ground beef not lamb, cottage pie.

with mixed vegetables, onion, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce topped with mashed potatoes.

In the oven now.

I know now how to improve next time.
They seem like a variant of the US Midwest pigs in a blanket.

15. Beef ribs

It was a beautiful, sunny day in the Catskills but fiercely cold so we needed some comfort food.

Thick beef ribs cooked in the crockpot with Stubb's barbecue sauce, sliced onions and minced garlic.

Boiled corn on the cob with butter. Mixed green salad with honey-mustard dressing.

Mango sorbet.

16. I had bacon, lettuce and tomato on a whole wheat roll and fruit/baby carrots. I made a

spice cake yesterday with extra ginger and greek yogurt which made it very much like the gingerbread my Mom made for dessert and a latte go with it.
