....but, I'm very picky about one I'll let into my kitchen. First, it has to be large capacity. At least 5 quarts or more. Second, and most important, I want one that doesn't beep all the time, over every function.
The one I have now beeps when it's done, 3 times, and it's very loud. It beeps when I set the temperature.Beeps when I adjust the time.Beeps when it's pre-heated,etc.etc.
I'm very sensitive to noises, and this is just too much. A nice ding when the food is ready would be great. Any suggestions or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

(21,106 posts)I thought I would NEVER use it. How wrong I was. I use it almost daily for ALL kinds of foods. It gets more use in my kitchen than the microwave nowadays. I am going to get a bigger one for the other counter.
And, I didn't realize you were being facetious until after I posted.

(43,136 posts)A big blob of Blu-Tack jammed into the piezo tweeter's hole is very effective at reducing the volume to tolerable levels whilst still keeping the basic functionality. And the blob can and probably should be removed if you need to make a warranty claim.

For reference, the Google is useful for any symptoms you can put words to, be they human, automotive, electrical because someone else has already had your problem and fixed it already, and they want to share because they are really pissed at the manufacturer.

(426 posts)...For sharing the video showing how to disarm the annoying, constant beeps. We found the part, as it shows in both videos, and we were able to remove the disc. It's pretty much easy-peasy. The air fryer works, but without all the constant beeps. Now that I know how to get rid of that, I may get another AF just like this one! Thanks again.

It bakes a bit hotter than the toaster oven so we're still trying to get used to it, but the air frying feature seems to be pretty good. I've cooked fresh french fries a few times using the process outlined by Chef John
They were pretty good. Very little oil was used and they were crispy. I was pleasantly surprised. I've also made frozen fries on the air-fry setting several times. They always come out great. No oil added to them.
I've also made wings. I don't believe I left them in the frier long enough so I'll make an adjustment next time.
The air roasting setting is great. As for the bake setting... I've made porcupine balls, and my wife has made banana bread and biscuits. All 3 cooked much faster than they did in the old toaster oven. I've re-heated pizza a few times. I found that 350 on air-roast for 5 minutes does the trick. Much better than the microwave for re-heating pizza.
My wife gave the old toaster oven away too fast I think. We used that all of the time. The new one is taking a bit of learning, but I'm sure we'll get there.
