(8,203 posts)also green pepper with onion and garlic..to counter the acidity of tomato, I add couple tpsn of sugar..some say if you use a "red" pepper you don't need the sugar...

Interesting, red pepper instead of sugar.

(5,111 posts)Onion, green perry, sugar and instead of tomatoes she used catsup. I kid you not. I dont know if that was her own twist or a legit southern version. It also had grown beef. Everything was kind of cooked together so it began kind of a mushy pasta. It was tasty in its own way but not even close to sphaghetti bolognese.we called it creole pasta but I dont know if that was a real thing.
