What's for Dinner, Wed., April 14, 2021

Broccoli cheddar soup, only I am going to change it to broccoli-cheddar-Swiss-parmesan soup.
Also adding some vegetable broth. Not that I didn't like it when I made it a few days ago, but it's always fun to experiment.

Cornbread muffins and a baby arugula salad with cherry tomatoes, parmesan, and toasted pignolis.

Lemon meringue pie for dessert with Earl Grey tea.

I haven't decided how I'll top it yet. I know Al likes extra cheese. I like onions.

2. Fresh caught flounder

lightly floured and fried hot in oil, salt, pepper. Romaine/tomato salad, bosc pears, and Make Fudge Not War ice cream from Aldi. Husband likes to go fishing and managed to snag one using his new shrimp lure. He will be going back for more I am sure.

3. Fried pork chop

seasoned with a BBQ rub. Fried potato wedges.

4. I mixed the taco meat from yesterday with rice

so a sort of Mexican rice.

5. I had a hamburger with all the 'fixins'...fried onions, cheese, pickles etc. I finished up the

green beans from yesterday also.

6. I was thinking of exactly that

when I was mulling over dinner ideas. Right down to the green beans!

7. Isn't that funny and I thought Your menu sounded lovely. I decided to make broccoli soup in fact.

It is going to be cool here the next few days.

11. I don't know in regards to your menu and cooking skills...you are like the 'great mind'.

I made chowder today as I was out of broccoli...put it on the list for next week...cold and rainy here.

9. Wife is out of town visiting the great grandchildren,

so keeping it simple. Frozen burger patties on the grill with home made bread and butter pickle slices and pickled onions on the bun.

10. Sauted Shrimp

No grits around, so I had mashed potatoes with them. Spinach salad.

Cinnamon roll for dessert.

ETA: Huh. It won’t display sautéed correctly in the title line. Let’s see if this one comes out correctly...

ETA: Yep. That’s weird, never noticed that before. Must be because of the accent mark?
