What's for Dinner, Fri., May 7, 2021

Chinese dumplings, only this time I am going to do them in layers in a skillet. First the wrapper, then the filling, then another wrapper. I am going to cook them over low heat in toasted sesame oil so the wrapper will be crispy.

I think it will be easy and delicious, too. Of course, chopped cilantro and scallion over the top. Hoisin sauce and wasabi-soy.

Asian cabbage salad with peanuts.

Pineapple kombucha to drink.

Mmmmh! I found some French lentils when I cleaned and organized a cabinet yesterday.

And the strawberries....I have fresh ones. I can totally do this menu.

Love love love lentils.

We made chicken pot pies earlier this week so we'll finish those tonight. I'll probably make a green salad with tomatoes and red onion.

Way too many people in that building by the way. I'm so happy that we've been vaccinated. I believe that my wife and I were the only patrons wearing a mask. All of the staff were though. We sat in the dining area and opted out of the hibachi tables.

We started with soup, then appetizers of spicy shrimp tempora roll, deep fried gyoza, tempora vegetables, then split a meal of filet, fried rice, and vegetables.

It was good, but I think we're going to stay away from that place until the pandemic is over. I won't be surprised if 70% of the people in this county - Santa Rosa County, FL - don't become infected. 70% of the county are registered republicans. Very few are wearing masks here.
