Related: About this forumI'm in mourning - they stopped making the only cereal I eat.
Kashi brands -which I think is probably part of some e-vile "big food" conglom, but I don't care - made the best cereal, stuff called "7 Whole Grain Puffs".
It had no sweetener of any kind, except the natural sweetness of the grain, which the "puffing" process brings out. It had a wonderful texture, robust enough to stand up to milk, but not like "RAW BITS - OAT HULLS AND WHEAT CHAFF". Chewy-crunchy without posing an injury hazard to the mouth.
They've stopped making it.
I'm devastated.
Does anyone know a source for case lots? The manufacturer said their remaining stock went "to the usual discontinued resellers" but the local Big Lots doesn't have any.
I will probably have to try and re-create it by buying individual puffed grain cereals and mixing them, but I doubt I can even get close.

(2,190 posts)I'm not sure they make anything themselves. There are people online who try to guess what the "name brand" is; they mostly use recall alerts to track down products, but ingredient lists are also helpful. I'd try googling to see if they might have the last shipments.
It was at Trader Joe's. That would be the first place to look for me.

(24,253 posts)If so, check and see if the same thing is now carrying the Kirkland brand. I read an article somewhere recently that Costco is gobbling up other brands and doing that.

(35,622 posts)There are many who loved this dressing; some people have the knack for being able to put a taste together. I know--I live with someone like that.
So try the copycats and see how you do!

(35,622 posts)The RG is in the business and he knows who these resellers are. I'll ask him for some names for you and pm you. He's away on business so I'm not sure when I'll get back to you.

(15,933 posts)I use to eat the same cereal back in the late 90's. I ate it from the box like popcorn. However, I became extremely allergic to it and it caused my legs to get a rash from my knees down to my feet and sometimes the rash was so severe that my whole legs would be red and swollen.
Needless to say I haven't had any since then.
Good luck in your searches!
