What's for Dinner, Sunday, June 13, 2021

Veggie terrine: has carrots, zucchini, yellow squash, garlic, eggs, and lots of basil. I'm also mixing in mustard spinach. It's baked in a loaf pan. Six eggs!

I'm cutting fresh peas at the garden and will have them in either pasta or a salad, not sure which at this point.

Making another round of that strawberry soup I made before.

For those of you who missed the post last night, I tried to post right before I left for the Korean restaurant. I got a 403 several times and could't get my post up.

I emailed one of our posters to ask if they would do the post but guess they didn't get the email.

My girlfriend had to go to this town south of us to pick up a rug. I knew of this restaurant and suggested we get takeout. This Korean restaurant was about a B+, prol'ly would have been an A but they were so busy on a Saturday night. They have quite a reputation, and were also recommended by a friend.

I was able to get a mango bubble tea, which I haven't had in an age. We also ordered beef shortribs (really, just flat little pieces of beef in BBQ sauce with grilled onion), scallion pancakes, udon noodles with chicken.

The town it is located in is known for its downtown area and has lots of shops and restaurants. Good landscaping, too. But we decided to head home because it was getting chilly out so we had our dinner at my house.

Scallion pancakes rock, and even taste great with sour cream like potato pancakes, if you carry out.

Dinner is... prolly cold cuts, or else fried pork chops beat thin-as-I-can with a fearsome hammer I found in the basement. Reminds me of that hammer at the end of Dragnet.

Maybe tomatoes and blue cheese as an appetizer.

instead of mayo.

It has slivered almonds, green onions, bacon bits along with the broccoli.

I made it yesterday to take to a meeting and came home with lots of leftovers so that is our lunch

Mr YD scrambled up a pan of ground beef last night and we will probably have spaghetti or chili for supper.

I stove roasted a red bell & a poblano pepper. Sliced those, a purple onion and pitted black olives.
Pan toasted the buns in garlic butter.
Used a garlic & port aioli I made a few weeks ago.
Polish ham & swiss.
Then, it's eat when you feel like it.

Sugarless butter pecan ice cream for desert. I'm on a kinda keto diet. Its working--I've lost 23 lbs in the past few months.

Fish stick bhorta from Nigella Lawson seems to be all over the Internet, so I thought I’d give it a try. I rate it as just okay. Better than plain fish sticks, but not really worth doing again.
