and dining outdoors at Panera, reading my new library checkout: How About Never: Is Never Good For You? It's about The New Yorker cartoons.

Also stopping at the garden to cut salad ingredients and herbs.

I saw the bearsclaw last time I was at Panera and it looked good, but they also had cheese pastries that looked enticing, too.

on edit: I chose the bearsclaw but they have a calorie count sign on the front of each plate of pastries. Ay yi yi: 500 calories! So I asked if I could change my mind and get a spinach-artichoke-three cheese souffle. After all, only 10 more calories. This I took to the outdoor dining area to enjoy along with my New Yorker cartoon book. It was very pleasant, what with all the window boxes of flowers. It was in the shade and there were quite a number of people out there as well.

Along comes a team of leafblowers. Do you think it even crossed their mind to be just a little bit considerate? Hell no and so we were soon overcome with fumes, dust, and dirt. Fortunately I had pretty much finished by that time so I lit out fast before I could get showered in dirt and pollen.
