Cold salmon salad. Glazed with brown sugar. The bed of greens is a combo of light green ruffly and green and red romaine.

Corn, which I cut off the cob.

Cucumber with red onions and mint in sour cream.

Pineapple-passion fruit kombucha.

Dessert: an ice cream cone a friend gave me. It's Oreo vanilla ice cream.

4. Ribs

St. Louis style ribs slow cooked with a red BBQ sauce basting for the last hour
Cabbage baked with onions
Mustard potato salad

Ribs and sides will be shared with my neighbor.

FLFC has been expressing his interest in the aroma for the last hour or so.
He's eaten a treat, some steak, and a piece of bacon but knows I'm holding back the good stuff. He just walked up and is talking to me about the issue.

5. It's the 12th already?

Dinner was pretty boring—rice with one of those shelf-stable packets of dal heated in the microwave. My grandson is here and this is his favorite dinner. Cantaloupe for dessert.

7. Shrimp Kabobs

10 count shrimp marinated in pinot grigio, brandy, lime juice, garlic, paprika & salt.
Marinated mushrooms the same.
Had green pepper sections, whole mini red peppers, mushrooms, onion wedges, & the shrimp.
Grilled over regular charcoal with a tin of cherry wood chips on the coals.
Side was a risotto with jarred sun dried tomatoes.
