Appetizer: sweet chile hummus on chia bread (toasted) and sliced tomato.
I'm just warming up--or maybe I will even have it cold--broccoli rabe with carrots, red cabbage, and curry rice. The curry rice is also made with coconut milk.
Love having leftovers so I can spend more time in the garden!
Dessert: blueberry shortcake. Whipped cream, of course. Cold Sweet and Spicy Earth tea.
Later on in the evening: cold watermelon, which I cut up using my melon ball tool.

(21,988 posts)It's raw, damp and chilly in the Catskills today. The Landlady(!) decided to make the French stew. Fine by me since it's one of my favorites.
It has braised beef cubes, of course, along with carrots, onions, mushrooms and bacon along with the ingredients to make the sauce. She cooks it for 4-5 hours and we'll have a salad and some semolina bread with the stew.
Burgundy wine and apple slices for dessert.

dessert: peanut butter cookie brownies. It's a box mix. You drop pb cookie dough into the brownie batter. They look like they came out pretty good.

The rice is "rice-a-roni" Mexican rice.
The tacos are something I copied from a local restaurant. I cook fresh shrimp, then cut them into smaller pieces. In butter & olive oil, I cook onion, garlic and serrano, then add the adobo sauce from a can of chipotle peppers. Add more butter to make a nice, smoky glossy sauce. Add the shrimp back in to warm up. Then make the tacos, topping with chopped green onion, thin-sliced radishes, avocado, cilantro and cotijo cheese.

The chicken recipe is from the New York Times: https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/12240-citrus-chicken?
Sorry about the paywall. It's pretty easy: Halve an orange, section one half, juice the other. Juice a lime. Cook boneless skinless chicken breast, seasoned and floured, in olive oil and butter. Remove the chicken and make a sauce with the pan and citrus juices and a tablespoon of sugar. Toss in the orange sections and serve over the chicken.
Dessert is another glass of the Urban Riesling Mosel.
