Tossed green and red lettuce salad with chicken, red cabbage sliced on the mandolin, chopped scallion, and tomato.
I had other veggies but no time to chop 'em for the salad.
Pineapple guava kombucha.
Dessert: watermelon.

I've been inside out since July 2. Today, fingers crossed, is the first day without pain. Following a nutritional book with advise to built back slowly with berries, figs, molasses, greens, lemons. Gave up bananas, donuts, watermelon for this week, light on coffee. Allergies are all gone, feel about 10 pounds lighter. Taking lots of vitamins.
No one, nor I myself, would have advised against a hospital admission. But the body heals!!

(4,602 posts)Spinach (of course) with carmelized onion, dried cherries, mushroom, red bell pepper, and sliced, boneless chicken thighs that have been marinating in oil, lemon juice, crushed garlic, and lots of Italian seasoning. Havent decided on a dressing yet.
One of my coworkers got a package from home that included several bags of his favorite coffee. He gave me one, so I am excited to try coffee from El Salvador after dinner. Never had it before. It smells a little bit fruity, but not too much.

(24,264 posts)since she just spent an hour quartering a whole turkey and putting it in seal-a-meal bags to freeze for later. I'm making one of her favorite summer dinners, Shrimp Louie. I just steamed the shrimp in Old Bay seasoning, then peeled them and put them in the fridge.
When I make Shrimp Louie, I really go all out on the presentation. Lots of colors on the plate, laid out nicely and I also make my own dressing, which is 1000 Island with a little horseradish in it.

(10,428 posts)I remember seeing that exact thing on the "lo-cal" section of the menu in a lot of diners. Back then it was a pretty small section.

I've got a mandolin, but the kind for music, not slicing!
Nothing special tonight for dinner.
My wife had a Dr. appointment this afternoon & I drove her, so it was convenience foods.
