Appetizer: garlic and chive pita crackers with lemon twist hummus.

Grilled chicken; Italian marinade. I'm going to put this over romaine salad, so grilled chicken salad.

Sweet potato fries

Blueberry ginger kombucha.

Watermelon.

over brown rice

The veg in the stir-fry is broccoli, yellow squash, carrot, onion, celery, mushroom, garlic and ginger.

There's ice cream for dessert.

I cooked up one of my Inherited FM from a weekend camping trip.

It was Not FM

It was tougher than shoe leather

Had to eat it with my hands caveman style with much grunting and slobbering.

Luckily there were no witnesses.

Yikes

I had to work in SoHo today so the Landlady(!) met me for dinner in Chinatown.

One of our favorite restaurants is called Hop Kee on Mott Street. It's a hole-in-the-wall and you descend a steep flight of stairs to enter this eatery. It's not fancy and has bright florescent lighting and utilitarian tables and chairs.

BUT THE FOOD IS AWESOME!

We haven't been able to go to Chinatown since our last visit in late February 2020. We were thrilled to see this joint was still in business.

My companion had a special of scallops with vegetables. We split a large bowl of Hot-'n'-Sour soup and I had chicken Egg Foo Young. Hop Kee's brown sauce is to die for! Just delicious.

We got some flavored ices on the street as we walked to the subway. Just then, with a blast of lightning and thunder, the heavens opened and we dove into the Canal Street subway station for the ride uptown.
