I bought a bread machine and just made a loaf of the basic white bread in the book. If that was

the best it would do, I'd be happy with it. I will probably find some more multi-grain type recipe I really like. Plus dark rye for reuben's

I just had my first tuna sandwich in about five years. I had been making wraps. That was for diet reasons, but now I can have bread again. It was great to have a real sandwich again.

This may almost rival the automatic coffee maker for my favorite kitchen appliance.

I usually use my bread machine to make dough and then shape it into any shape I want. I don't know what it is about making dough that I find tedious but the bread machine takes that all away. Nothing like home baked bread.

about using the bread machine to make dough is that most of my bread recipes make more than one loaf, which was fine when I was making bread for the family but not so great now. I don't like to use the bread machine for the whole cycle because I don't like the hole in the middle or the weird shape of the bread.

We have two bread machines and neither one of us will give ours up. I absolutely do not like his, and he refuses to use mine because "Well, I learned on this one." So they're both taking up space. He hasn't made bread in forever.

I follow the recipe for baking in the oven…toss it in a loaf pan or a baguette pan…whatever. Works every time. The dough timer on my bread machine is only 45 minutes so I will usually knead the dough by hand at the end of that 45 minutes and give it one more rise in whatever baking vessel I’m using. It works great for focaccia.

Love it! I've had most success with regular white bread, but I've tried wheat as will. I've moved on to making Dutch babies lately, but I've been craving fresh bread lately again.

around trying to find a purse someone on my tour left behind. Every 2 blocks there was a bakery baking bread. It was heaven.
