4. I do not like American chocolate mixes. I am a snobby about this, so my reply is a bit long

First, I was out of my regular Mexican Drinking Chocolate mix (Abuelita brand) so I subbed my on hand English Cadbury drinking chocolate and put in cinnamon, chipolte powder, cayenne and a bit of the Mexican vanilla I had in almost boiling milk. It was fine & I'd make it again.

While todays fake out hot Chocolate was good, I'd recommend getting Abuelita chocolate discs at 'ethnic foods area' in most groceries these days. I do not get the powder packets that are near the discs, I am tagging that company with the disdain I feel for swiss miss powders.

I found this you tube review of the Abuelita chocolate

--Cetina is also a fan. “The smell and the flavor takes me back to my childhood memories, I remember my mother used to make me and my family ‘Chocolate Abuelita’ in family gatherings with just water, as our financial resources were scarce at the time. One of the things I remember the most is my mum using a wooden whisk stirrer to make a very frothy hot chocolate, this particular tool made it delicious,” he says.

Snip--Cetina says a cup of “Chocolate Abuelita” is best enjoyed with “a delicious piece of sweet bread” while watching your favorite TV shows with your family—something we’re all doing more of these days.

It is the quality not sweet chocolate with the mix of spices to your taste that make the drink.
Hope this helps.

With ground sausage and black beans, lots of peppers, onions, and tomatoes. Would love to have some cornbread, but getting close to my weight goal, and don't want to blow it. I will have the sugarless chocolate peanut butter ice cream. And coffee later.

From this month's issue of Louisiana Cookin' magazine. Lots of andouille, trinity, tomatoes and creole seasonings. It's simmering now, smells great.
