I bought a Honeysuckle turkey before Christmas

Why, I don't know. Most of my family are vegetarians. But it was a good price and I had room to store it. I roasted it today. I offered to share it with my daughter. At least one of her kids still eats meat. She will take some. Not a big turkey. I had a cooking bag and used that. It turned out moist and tender. My kitty and I will not let our share go to waste

If I make bone broth, it looks milky. I feel like all these years I'm doing something wrong. What do you think?

I told my friend the other day I'm not crazy about the taste of the broth, but realized that I might like it better if I cook the bones when the turkey is fresh. This turkey is falling off the bones, so I might give it a shot

Bones and carcass of 1 chicken (we suggest starting with a whole roasted chicken)
12 cups filtered water
2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar.- the white vinegar tastes harsh to me, so cut back if that is all you have.
S&P
1 onion- I like onions tho

The ACV 'melts' the bones, so I get the collagen & occasionally is is milky, so I strain thru a coffee filter.

I got as many bones as I could, added vinegar, onion (I like them, too!) and water. It looks nicer. I added some of the pan juice. Thanks for the idea

makes great turkey noodle soup - just add some chopped parsley, celery, and carrot and some scraps of meat if any left. no it isn't clear but that never bothers me, no broth I make is ever very clear. I just figure that stuff is nutrition.

as I get older.

I eat a lot of soup now, making it low carb, so I did sort the bones and going to cook them now.

I made some turkey fritters 3 days ago. I have one left. I also made a creamy green bean soup with sausage, potato and onion. That is a tasty blend.

I had a quart of broth and pan juice left from the turkey. In spite of my comments about cooking the bones, I went ahead and cooked them today. I used the quart of liquid I had instead of water. Got about 2 cups of tukey off the bones, have another cup of bigger pieces. I strained the broth, added a bag of Kroger Italian style vegetables, onion, garlic, okra, celery, a fresh carrot, a fresh potato and curry spices. I'll add a little of the off the bone turkey in a few minutes. It ought to be pretty rich.

I think I'm addicted to cooking :/
