(22,023 posts)Preheat the oven to 350º F.
Put the filet on a rack in the oven. Use a meat thermometer; when the temperature goes above 140º, the meat will be ready.
It's good to baste it if you have a sauce or drippings.
Good luck and enjoy!

(91 posts)If you have any sweet potatoes and Brussel sprouts it is really good to bake it on top of the veggies. Chop them up, coat them in oil, layer them on a baking sheet and roast at 425 for about 35 mins (internal temp 145)

(20,488 posts)5 star results here, seriously:
Put cast iron skillet in oven. Set to 550 or as high as it will go. Let it preheat. After preheat:
Take skillet out of oven and place in largest burner. Brown ALL sides of PL
just a couple minutes per side.
Place the skillet with PL back in the oven for 15 minutes
Remove from oven, and place PL on plate
Pour 1/2 - 3/4 cup milk in skillet and deglaze. Keep stirring. Then take a tbsp of butter and mix it in till its all melted. Then sprinkle flour in while stirring till you reach the desired thickness
Thats it! I just finished mine not 30 minutes ago and it is fantastic!

(5,475 posts)flour, egg, panko them (in that order) and fry quite hot in some veggie oil. Flip them over when the panko gets quite brown and repeat. Does not take long at all and they are fabulous. Don't know if you want to cut your loin filet thin and do it this way but just a suggestion. Also do the same process using pounded-thin chicken breasts. I usually use just salt, pepper, and paprika for my seasoning. Serve with smashed potatoes and whatever veggie you prefer. Pretty quick meal and yummy all the same. The crunch factor is amazing. Enjoy your loin.

(2,673 posts)Cut meat into slices, 1/4 to 1/2 inches thick. Spray shallow baking dish with Pam, lay meat in dish cover with corn and a little chopped onion. About 1 cup of corn for 4 to 5 pieces of meat, don't want to drown the meat in corn, just a little like a generous relish. Sprinkle with Season salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Cover with foil, bake at 325 degrees, 45 mins to one hour depending on how much meat is being cooked. Check and adjust the seasoning, if seems dry, add a little water. When almost done, remove foil and up temp to 375 to finish.
Don't waste heat of the oven, stick some sweet potatoes in the oven to bake along with the pork.
Concerning corn; I like to use fresh corn and cut it off the cob, one ear will yield about 1 cup of corn. If fresh not available, use frozen corn, if frozen not available, use canned..
I have been making this dish for 50 years, always a favorite.

(57,073 posts)Add 1 qt beef broth or a can of consume or french onion soup (super yummy!).
Add carrots, diced potatoes, celery, green beans.
Cook till done - 165F on meat thermometer. In my experience, after browning & adding the broth & veggies, the meat is done when the carrots are cooked. 👍
Delic!
