What's for Dinner, Sat., Febr. 2022

Having dinner with my friend tonight at her house.

She is making garlic lemon chicken breasts, baking them in the oven.

I am taking a tossed salad with chopped cucumber, red onion sliced on the mandoline, red, yellow, and gold peppers, sliced celery, chopped asparagus, tomato, and shrimp which I cooked in butter.

Chopped broccoli with garlic in olive oil.

I'm taking Gingerberry kombucha and of course she will have her white wine.

I made peanut butter cookies this afternoon, so I am taking those for dessert.

Earlier today, someone posted about chicken Kiev and the Landlady(!) has never had it so I’m making it.

The stuffed and fried/baked chicken will be accompanied by white rice, green beans and garnished with parsley and lemon.

Perhaps a vodka will go well with this dish.

posted along with it; shows him eating the Kiev (and drinking entirely too much vodka.)

It's not a roast, but rather a couple of those "mock chuck" steaks that need to be braised.

So I put them in the slow cooker w/ potatoes, carrots, and onions. I'll add some corn near the end.

Al got me a dark chocolate candy bar, so a few squares from that will be my dessert.

twice-baked (loaded) potatoes, and broccoli with butter and lemon. An Austrian Grüner Veltliner to drink.
