What's for Dinner, Thurs., Oct. 13, 2022

I have a chicken in the slow cooker. The vegetables with which it is cooking are carrot, fennel, onion, and celery. Numerous cloves of garlic, of course.

Chopped salad made of freshly pulled radishes, celery, cucumber, shallot (red) and fennel. I mixed up a creamy garlic parmesan dressing for it and chopped almonds to put on the top.

Did all this plus a zucchini-egg breakfast dish for tomorrow while I was watching the hearings.

Peach Paradise kombucha.

Later, hot orange tea with a five-seeded almond bar and vanilla tapioca pudding.

We like them better than the other brands and it's good to have one in the freezer for nights when I don't feel like cooking. Usually just get the pepperoni pizza and sometimes add other toppings and more cheese, sometimes just leave it as is. Feeds two of us for just over $4, so hard to argue with that.

TJ added a bit more pepperoni.

I bought two when they were on sale and with a coupon for $3.49! I could have got five at that price but not enough room to keep them.

There will be more left, but I'm cutting it into individual servings and freezing.

Roasting a whole chicken tomorrow, hopefully, if it's completely thawed by then. Took it out day before yesterday, but it's a large bird and has been in the freezer for months, so pretty solid.

Raw oysters on the half shell with the usual: vinegar, cocktail sauce, lemon and horseradish. Garlic bread. Mixed green salad. Cookies.
