(22,270 posts)2. my son in law is Kurdish and his mom gets baklava made with walnuts
sometimes. She orders it from a Persian bakery in Phoenix and tells them exactly how she wants it prepared. More butter and lots of nuts.
I love it even though it can make my teeth hurt because it is so sweet.
by the way, Persian food is awesome!

(20,254 posts)4. We communicated at a Greek Orthodox Church a number of years ago.
Needless to say, delectable goodies at their bake sales and especially the annual festival. We loaded up the freezer! It was months of baking to accomplish. I did 'help' some in the festival's Loukoumades booth a couple of years. Sweet dough puffs napped in honey lemon syrup and then dusted with cinnamon. What's not to love! 😁
