(3,370 posts)Tight squeeze tonight, so I am picking up some pre-made stuff at the store. Fried chicken, mac 'n' cheese, and loaded mashed potatoes.

(65,191 posts)Chopped one shallot & a sliced a red pepper. Added them back to the scallops, added a pinch of cinnamon & a couple of paprika. Plus, the juice of half a lemon.
Served with thinly sliced potatoes with a butter & cream sauce with just black pepper & a little saffron.
My wife loved it.

(22,767 posts)we had a salad with almost every meal, but it was just basic lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, and onion with salt, pepper, garlic powder, oil and vinegar.
As an adult, that was still the only green salad I ate. I'd see people at salad bars put all this stuff together and thought it looked and sounded gross. But then, somewhere less than a decade ago, I tried it and liked it.
The MF nuggets are just because we think they're tasty and easy to prepare. I did forget to thaw some peas for the salad, tho.

(35,732 posts)And you keep the peas. 🥗
I washed romaine and spinach for tomorrow. Might do beets and feta with toasted walnuts.
For the first time we were disappointed at the Portuguese restaurant. Greens not fresh. I sent the salad back. Also not enough balsamic.
no green peppers.
Sorry your dinner was off.

(22,767 posts)Eons ago, husband's mother took us out to eat for his birthday. He had a salad of shredded beets and I don't remember what else, didn't seem like much else, but it was delicious. I still think about it once in a while and wish I'd paid more attention to what the composition was. It was really nicely chilled, too, which made it even better.

(It also has carrots and onions in it, so you might call it a stir-fry. I used the last of the roast.)
Dad had breaded/baked pork chop, creamy pesto pasta and sauteed zucchini.
There's a lot of ice cream in the house if I decide I want dessert.

(10,158 posts)We had some unexpected guests for dinner this past weekend so made up a big pot of chili (using the frozen leftover turkey from Thanksgiving). If I feel ambitious I may make some biscuits, or I'll just combine it with the leftover stalish tortilla chips.
