What's for Dinner, Fri., Sept 29, 2023

Sure am glad I am well stocked for soup. I can choose from vegetable-sausage-bean, beans with greens (took Retrograde's comment and tried it and yeah, it's good). and butternut squash soup. Not sure at this point which one I will choose.

I have so much do that I'm grateful to have these in the frig. The constant rains here have NY, NJ, & CT with flooded streets. My basement isn't too bad but it does require a little attention.

I will pop a loaf of cornbread in the oven to go with the soup of the day and serve it hot with Sweet and Spicy Red Pepper Jelly.

Peach-pineapple kombucha.

Dessert: caramel apple.

…with a fry-up of cabbage, onion, apple, and mushrooms in a little bacon-fat. And some box red wine.

Comfort food for these rainy times.

All the ways back to civilization are flooded! Thankfully, our kitchen is stocked.

We have a tuna steak and it's marinating in soy sauce and lemon juice. I'll sear it on the grill to a black-n-blue finish then slice it thinly. It'll be served with wasabi and pickled ginger with white rice on the side.

A simple salad using the last of our garden's red leaf lettuce. We'll add tomatoes, red onion, green pepper slices and slivers of carrot topped with Japanese ginger dressing.

Black tea and orange slices afterwards.

Hopefully, the roads will be clear in the morning so we can get to work!
