What's for Dinner, Mon., Feb. 19, 2024

Braised Fennel Salad with Pears and Gorgonzola.

A friend brought me some lobster cakes he made! They are like crab cakes, just made with lobster instead.

Peach pineapple kombucha.

Dessert: The whipped Greek yogurt was a big hit. I actually thought I was having whipped cream. Tonight I'm going to try it with peaches instead of strawberries. I will mince crystallized ginger to put over the top. Cup of dark Chinese tea.

Made a sauce with thinly sliced onions and cabbage, then some powdered milk and pesto.
Not bad for a toss together thing. A sprinkle of cayenne helped kick it up a bit.
Meals are gonna be weird, pantry-scraping combos the next few days because I’m nearly out and have no transportation to the store.

Stopped in at the large Asian market after work. Got miso, so I made a miso soup broth with cabbage and kale. Also dbl dipped the cabbage and kale to make a slaw. Added a carrot and fresh ginger and dressed it with sweet chili sauce. Very good. I will add some cucumber to see how that changes for lunch leftovers. Found a small package of lemongrass marinated pork so I fried that up too and it is all tasting very nice.
