And I jump at the chance.

Sometimes I make strawberry-rhubarb pie.

Rhubarb is a vegetable.

You cannot call it a pie or dessert.

My grandmother and aunts used to try to trick us kids with this nonsense
with rhubarb grown in their garden. My aunt would throw in a few strawberries
to trick us even more.

We know that dessert is only ice cream or cake.
Maybe a nice candy bar.

But I would eat the whipped cream and leave the pie on the plate.

5. Ooooh, I miss rhubarb...

One of the few things I miss from the Midwest (I’m in FL since the ‘80s). Hope you brought enough for everyone, or this is just cruel.

7. My co-worker brought back 5 stalks from Lancaster County in PA.

Just enough to fill a pie shell.
