I got the kitchen tidied up. Also made some food--fried cabbage with bacon bits, cucumber kimchi for dinner later.
I'm going to make an icebox cake. Graham crackers layered with lemon cheesecake, maybe some berries.
Just seems to be a good day to be in the kitchen.

(5,119 posts)They popped nicely. There were only about thirty which did not. I am watching my cholesterol. Therefore, I did not top off with melted butter.

(4,613 posts)I was thinking of making pizza and maybe some tabouli. Truth is, this is the time of year I have no energy or patience for anything. The garden is a mess, but I don't want to deal with it. The kitchen is always orderly--one of my favorite places to be.

(23,457 posts)wash, rinse, pat dry, cut in pieces, put them in freezer bags and freeze. Tomatoes, peppers, and onions can be used for any soup, stew, chili. If you are crunched for time, or out of the mood to preserve, it's a good way to save the late summer bounty.
