What's for Dinner, Sun., Sept. 28, 2025

Hope I can click the Post button right today.

Green Salad With Pears, Pecans and Blue Cheese.

If I'm ambitious, I intend to grill chicken with basil pesto. I have a lot of basil that should be used. I also have cilantro and would like to do pesto with it, too.

OTOH, a friend was in Philly and brought me back a Philadelphia Cheesesteak sandwich. OMD! I already tasted it and it was sublime.

What to do, what to do.

Kombucha will be pear-ginger.

Dessert is a caramel apple with peanuts.

We're in NYC for the weekend and we're invited to a fancy Upper East Side dinner party. Our hostess sent us the menu:

Sweet petite raw oysters from Martha's Vineyard
Australian sea bass, black forbidden rice, charred Bok choy
Vanilla ice cream
Espresso custard & caramel

Can't wait!

Moving slowly and had breakfast around 2:00… oatmeal pancakes with proper maple syrup and vegan sausage patties.

A rib-sticker of a meal so dinner—if any—will likely be late, as well.

Made it two days ago so the flavors are well marinated. Made a pan of jalapeño corn bread as a side. Cheers!🥂

recipe from WaPo before Bezos started interfering: corn, edamame (because store was out of baby limas), peaches, tomatoes and sausage. Took it to a barbecue and it all got eaten
