Had to toss some well past their "best by" dates & some w/considerable lost potency...
Cleaned the spice jars w/soap and water (WD40 gets glue residue off)
..determined we needed new labels in the worst way! 
Found some nice Apothecary-style, self-adhesive, plasticized labels on the 'Bay:
