My daughter is treating me to a baked steak dinner today

Her church has a fund raiser and sells baked steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, homemade dinner roll and dessert. The church has you preorder and it is takeout only. I've had them before and they are a treat.

I wanted to mention this in case people are looking for ways to get some variety into their diets, without having to cook a lot. There always seems to be a meal fundraiser in Marietta or surrounding communities. The food is usually good, plentiful, and probably costs the same as a restaurant meal.

There was a local church that offered cabbage rolls, halushki, homemade bread, and homemade chicken soup …. dine-in or take-out. I always ordered it to go, but I noticed office people would often go there to sit and eat a good lunch during their workday. Much better than fast food!

Enjoy your steak dinner!
